Pollution and Environment

Instructions for your blog 2.
For this second blog, you will write about a problem we as human beings and the Earth in general is facing due to the global warming or the pollution of the environment.
First, you need to take or find out a picture that represents this problem (you upload the picture where you write your comment)
After that, under the picture you will write a description about this problem. You can talk about aspects like: How is it caused? Which are the causes of this problem? What consequences is this problem bringing to human and wild life? Where is it more common? Is there any solution to eradicate this problem?
The following is an example I am providing you:

Red Tide
The red tides take place as consequence of the explosive increasing of a population of tiny seaweeds. They can be provoked because of polluted water from towns, houses or entire cities that goes into the ocean. Because of this contamination, the red tides produce toxins that get into the bodies of animals such as oysters, fish, shell-fish, lobsters, shrimps and crabs. When people or animals consume them, they can cause many diseases as stomachache and severe diarrheas or even in the most serious cases death in animals as well as human beings that ate them. This problem is very common in many countries where they do not have a project of treatment for polluted or residual water and every year affect the economy fishermen, sailors and customers in general.

  1. Air pollution is still a great challenge to humanity and this is due in large factories and cars that emit large amounts of smoke, affecting the atmosphere. This issue brings with it great consequences, such as global warming, pollution in the atmosphere, and some respiratory diseases because of the air we breathe is contaminated...
This kind of contamination typically found in cities where they are located mainly large and small factories and cars.
Some solutions to this problem may be that people who use a lot of the cars, using alternative means such as cycling or you can walk to where you need to go.
People also can use public transportation as they are buses, where they can travel several people and so not used to transport different vehicles, and this can help reduce air pollution.

  2. -Well as we know, nowadays the Earth is suffering a lot of changes because of us; these changes are very dangerous because they bring consequences that affect the entire world. In the last years scientists have investigated about this problem and they say that the Earth is going to be an uninhabitable place if we continue polluting the environment; and now we can see the that predictions about how will be the Earth in the future are becoming real, nowadays the people are dying of thirst because in so many places the water no longer exists, and this is because so many facts like the “Climate Change”, “The Global Warming” and other things. This problem (The Pollution) is caused for different reasons like for example: the smog of the cars, the rubbish that people throw to rivers and roads, the use of sprays and other things which as we know are very dangerous for us. The pollution of the environment has a lot of consequences that affects not only the Earth, but also affects to ourselves, the consequences of this problem are: The Climate Change, The lack of water, The extinction of plants, animals and even the extinction of the human race…We have the necessary to improve this world, we can stop the pollution, we are in time to do it, there are different ways to help the world, for example: recycling, throwing trash in its place, using fewer the cars… and other things which protect the Earth, because this planet is our home and we have the responsibility to take care of it, it is time to change, we can do it…

  3. The lost of biodiversity it’s a serious problem that has been increasing really fast in the past few years.
This have been caused because of the evolution that the man have done industrially and technology, also because the amount of people in the world is increasing day by day.
But most important of all, the habitat destruction and wildlife trade are the major causes of the loss of species.
Because the animals, trees, flowers and fish are mistreated and hunted for medicine, souvenirs, building materials and food. In addition hundreds of acres of nature are destroyed everyday to make more room to society.
This affect the humanity in a major way, for the reason that the lost of biodiversity means that we are destroying our resources for the future, in the thirty years we don’t know if the species of animals and plants that are endangered right now will have survive this matter.
But every one of us can make something to help save the biodiversity because we can ease this loss. We can recycle, use ours cars only as much as we need it, don’t use aerosols and put the garbage in it correct place. There is a lot we can do; you just have to find the best way to contribute according to your lifestyle.

  4. Global Warming
Is the phenomenon of increase in temperature of Earth's atmosphere and oceans in recent decades. Air pollutants accumulate in the atmosphere like an increasingly thick layer, trapping the sun's heat and causing global warming.
Global warming is causing irreparable consequences:
"The melting of glaciers leading to increased water in the oceans causing flooding.
"Droughts cause the most severe water shortages.
    -deforestation increases or raises deserts.
"Hurricanes, cyclones, global warming makes that more water evaporates from the oceans to increase these types of disasters.
    How to avoid:
    "Reducing pollution from vehicles.
-Reduce fuel use and increase use of biofuels.
    -recycle.
"Using clean technology and advanced agriculture to avoid carbon emissions.
The main pollutants are carbon dioxide, carbon dioxide and the largest polluters are the United States. China, India and Japan.
And to finish I think people should consider what we are doing to our planet which gives usmuch and we only give he a irreparable damage.

  5. The Melting of the Poles
The melting of the poles is caused by the climate change that the humans have caused with the broadcast of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Nowadays the ice cape in the poles is smaller than it was in the Ice Age and it continues to decrease. The impact of this problem is very big: The level of the seas is growing and that means that we have less land area by the floods, it’s possible that if we don’t stop it the melting of the seas could cause that the geography of the planet changes drastically. But we can stop that effect if we reduce the contamination of the air using the public transport instead of using our own cars. Also we can reduce the smoke of the factories and reduce the consume of electric energy.

  6. -The water pollution is a very serious problem that affects the entire world, in the last years this problem has increased and has brought with it many consequences that affect not only the Earth but also to ourselves. We can see that in so many places the people are dying because in their countries the water exists no longer, and if we continue polluting the rivers, the oceans and the water sources in general, in few years we will be dying of thirst. Near to my house there is a river, and this river is very contaminated, you can see all the trash that people throws there every day and it is something very sad because this people don’t know the damage they are causing to the Earth. There are many ways to contaminate the water, like for example: throw trash in the rivers and water sources, the chemical wastes from factories, the deforestation of the trees… and other things that really affect the Earth. This problem has a lot of consequences that affect everybody (animals, plants and even to us) some of them are: the biodiversity loss, the death of people, animal and plants, the lack of clean water to survive and others. We can stop this problem and reduce the consequences ; there are many ways to help the Earth, for example: recycling, campaigning against deforestation, throwing trash in its place, no wasting the water… and other actions, because we have to protect this planet, we can do it now, we are in time.

  7. The accumulation of garbage.

Garbage pollution has been a really big problem since the creation of synthetic materials. Since we realize of this, man has been trying to reduce this problem. But paradoxically, anthropogenic activities are the biggest factors that brought it into place.
Almost every country has dumps, were the garbage is kept for years, most of it never gets to degrade and worldwide the dumps take about 1.780.640 km2. They are the home for mosquitoes, rats, many viruses and bacteria.
Some countries burn their garbage, so all the pollution goes to the air, falling to the ground where we live; some others (companies, persons) throw the garbage to the sea ruining the marine environment, killing all kind of underwater animals.

  8. I am going to talk about Oil Spills... This is a kind of pollution affecting the sea, threatened marine species and ecosystems makes gradually disappear. The oil is a good product for the industry because generates many economic income; however, companies think only in economy and ignore the great harm they cause to the planet, the sea and marine life. We should put a stop to this situation. There are scientific methods to do it, for example, using a sponge that serves as a filter to collect the spilled oil. But also, we can raise awareness and prevent pollution for our welfare and that of future generations.. We can do it!!

  9. ---> POLLUTION IN RIVERS <---
*This problem becomes bigger every day ... people throw garbage and chemicals from factories and other things..!!
*CONSEQUENSES: when people pass through the rivers that are contaminated ... the people you cover your nose .... when it gets into the rivers the people can get sick .. like infections, allergies, fungus, bacterium.
*The consequences for animals ... fish die from pollution ... when animals drink water from the rivers cantaminados most are sick and can diE!!!:(
*In places where factories close, where there are houses near the rivers because the houses discarded detergent ...and contaminated waters..
    *SOLUTIONS*
-Factories should stop throwing chemicals in the rivers, be disposed in the respective places..!!
-Houses should not throw detergents and contaminated water
or maybe can use biodegradable detergent .. :)
-People can not throw garbage or other electronic devices , blenders, refrigerators and computers are not needed.. you should bring these things to places where maybe you can recycle ...-->Recycling is the mode where you can help the world!!! :D

  10. Deforestation is one problem that is causing the greatest impact on the environment, because of bad and excessive use of forests by man. People consume each day more and more, without thinking of the consequences of which can have at this time and in the future. Humans use forests for logging, remove much of them due to livestock, agriculture, mining, also to obtain more land for the construction of housing estates, buildings and industry in general. All this causes many effects on the environment as it produces the pollution of soil, water, air pollution, the extinction of many animal and plant species, floods, droughts. And people produce respiratory diseases, infections, lack of nutrients and vitamins for the low consumption of natural products, and among many other health problems. One solution is to create awareness among people all over the world to avoid all this deforestation and environmental pollution.

  11. Global Warming:
well the Earth has changed through the years because the people contaminated and don´t care the Earth. First the concept of Global Warming is: increased of the global temperature, the atmosphere and the oceans. This problem is cause for the air pollution of the cars and factories and their air stays in the atmosphere and don't leave the Earth. The consequences are:cause: reduction of the ozone layer, glaciers are melting, and this causes floods, forest fires , the Earth is suffering more problems atmospheric.
The best solutions for the Global Warming are:
    Recycling:
This is the process of reusing materials products obtained from waste, ie reusing products that have not yet reached the end of its useful life.
Second, power utilization is a big problem for the atmosphere, because electricity use by drivers can cause artifacts in large quantities of carbon dioxide.
deforestation would help greatly to global warming go away. You can save up to 1000 k. of waste a year by recycling half the waste of a family.

  12. Nowadays For me the pollution is like the most serious problem in the world because it cause the global warming and also it cause the hole in the ozone layer and this is pretty serious because the sun´s rays stay in the atmosphere and do not go away of the earth so this is causing that the temperature increase so like a result the poles are melting, and the volume of the ocean is increasing.
The pollution is caused by the human being because we contaminate the water or the air whit a lot smoke or garbage but also there some factories that they send the sewage into the ocean and this cause a lot of diseases and even that the animals die.
However there are a lot of campaigns against the pollution so there are people fighting for the health of the world, but there are some others who don’t really care much about it, so if we want to see our children growing up we need to do something about the pollution and the global warming.

  13. Acid Rain
"Acid rain" is a term used to describe several ways that acids fall out of the atmosphere. A more scientific term is acid deposition, which has two parts: wet and dry.
Wet deposition refers to acidic rain, fog, and snow. As this acidic water flows over and through the ground, it affects lots of plants and animals.
Dry deposition refers to acidic gases and particles. The wind blows these acidic particles and gases onto buildings, cars, homes, and trees.

Scientists discovered that sulfur dioxide (SO2) and nitrogen oxides (NOx) are the main causes of acid rain. Most of these gases comes from electric power generation that relies on burning fossil fuels like coal.
To solve the acid rain problem, people need to understand how acid rain causes damage to the environment. They also need to understand what changes could be made to the air pollution sources that cause the problem. For example, if people use more alternative energy sources the air pollution will decrease.

  14. One of the most important problem that human beings have faced at the end of the XXth Century is the "The Green House Effect." This was discovered accidentaly and consists of an excessive presence of some gases in the atmosphere. These gases are called "choroflurocarbons" and they do not permit the lose of solar radiation to the space. As a result, there is an increase in the Earth s temperature and a brake in the Earth s ecosystem
    balances.
The solution is very easy, but at the same time, very difficult for the modern society.First, do not use these gases eventhough they are present in many modern processes. Second, do not destroy the forests which give us oxygen instead of metano for example. So, human beings must decide what they want to do:to preserve the planet or destroy it.

  17. Nowadays we are facing a big problem that is due to the natural development of the big and small countries.
The shark finning refers to the removal of the sharks fins in almost every case they leave the animal alive and throw it to the ocean... obviously the animal cant swim so it sinks toward the bottom of the ocean and is eaten alive by other fish.
The low value of the shark meat makes not worth the cost of transport.
The longline which is the method that they use to cut the shark fins afect other animals because it doesnt have any way to attract only sharks... animals like dolphins moon fish and turtles are being affected too ... so the big question is why do they do this ? they do it to meet the demand in the market for shark fins to made shark fin soup... In Costa rica we have a green image but the goverment hasnt pay attention to this problem and like three years ago our country was the main example to explain the reason of the shark finning increase and the reason was poor management and corruption ... People in asia dont care how much is this meal afecting us they buy this soup just because of its afrodisiac properties. We need to stop this because the shark is a really important animal that asure us the stability of the marine ecosystems so the other species are going to overpopulate the ocean and this is going to affect our economy.
How do we work this out?
We can support the campaigns and take the time to make other people aware of the trouble and its consequences.

  18. in my opinion in the picture you can see the pollution that live
iwal animals and the world is why today some people there
who do not care, we must take steps towards these problems be a little
more considerate of the time to act as the earth is our home
must protect it because without it we would not have anything it would be nice to be part of a campaign to save the planet desconcideradas people try to understand everything that is Agualada for our good and the place where we live, it also produces effects in the layer ozone is what protects us from ultra violet rays deem minimize the burning of garbage, a campaign for the reciclaje.no to cutting trees .... with this issue and learned that avecez we forget how important it is the land so we try to keep it clean and do everything possible because this will continue to implement in the future (our children and families) and well that's my comment = D

  19. Marine Pollution
in the last ten years of marine pollution has grown considerably and many marine species, both plants and animals have been harmed.
many species have become extinct and others are in danger of extension.
an example of marine pollution is:

oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico
    in 2010

the spill was an accident that occurred in the Deepwater Horizon on the coast of luissiana.
this spill has caused serious losses of aquatic animals and plants as well.
Much of this lake, even in 2011 still contaminated and experts believe that the maritime ecosystem recovery will take many years.

this and many more problems make us aware of the danger our marine species, and that we must help to avoid further loss

  20. This problem is basically for abuse irrational given to fishing, so much so that nature tries to defend itself liberating toxins causing such tide. red tide causes loss of money for many exporters of marine species because they can not fish with such a condition, people who fish for subsistence, and big problems is attracting them to the world, because people have died from eating contaminated species, and animals that are in the sea die or get sick from all the polluted tide coming from the cities, ships, etc. This problem is very common in places that are not interested in making a change for humanity, caring and saving, only care about their lives and those of anyone else, so many people die from the bad treatment that makes them water where they live.
One solution to this problem is to create conscience in around the world that it is time for a change, which must be done for the common good, because in a few years we will have to suffer consequences worse than those that currently suffer by bad habits of people do not care for the world, our world.

  21. Contamination of soils

Nowadays people are responsible for pollution on the planet because they do not care for the environment. The cause of the contamination of soils is the destruction of green areas, tree felling, water pollution, and others by commercial industries and factories.
People precarious cause a major contamination in soils because build up their homes on lands of others, throw away and non-recyclable materials that cause this pollution.
This is a big problem because the trees purify the environment and water, and if we lose this the humanity ends. This is a global problem. The solutions of this problem can be recycling campaigns, people get aware of the situation and try to improve the livelihoods in a balanced manner with the environment.

    Pollution on the beaches
it’s caused by human activities on the coast.
The poor treatment of sewage, bottles thrown on the coast by the people, waste from boats, also affecting the house chores (such as when the foam from the detergent into the sea by rivers.), and when rains, it drag the garbage, are some of the causes of this problem.
The consequences that bring this pollution are very serious for human and wild life. consequences for human life: for direct contact with contaminated water, for eating contaminated fish or shellfish there is a risk of diseases with symptoms of bacteria in the body, disease can be fatal if not treated in time. In wildlife, the marines species are affected by pollution in coastal vegetation, also contaminates the scent on the beaches, affecting the airways of people. this contamination occur in the beaches that are most visited by people, such as some beaches in Mexico, Brazil ...
I think that there are solutions, the Government has to make programs that to educate people to care for the beaches, and create laws to fine those who pollute natural areas. And also those persons that contribute to clean the beaches, such pollution can be erradicated.

  23. water pollution!!
Well, i think that the people have to make consience about to save the planet, a lot of persons thinks that if her or him throw a garbage in the river or in the ground this is not going to make anything, but this really cause a lot of things.
The people have to change if, they want to make something to save the world, they have to make good things like dont throw tha garbage in the oceans and rivers, because if i go to a river the first thing that i am going to see it is the garbage, and these produce that a lot of animals die, and they dont have to pay the things that we do. So we have to make a change right now and think about our future!!!

  24. Air pollution is one of the most difficult challenges that exists today, this pollution will cause big changes in human life, it is said that environmental pollution will be the leading cause of death and that it is beginning its process, polluted rivers will affect us far into the future because without water life development will be difficult, it is said that at one time will fall as acid rain causing great human and animal deaths and that this will occur because pollution and may not perform the hydrologic cycle as naturally would. only solution would begin to bring awareness to people and find ways to reduce this pollution because we are the only ones responsible.

  25. In all the world, including Costa Rica, we do one of two things with our ordinary garbage, burn it or bury it. Neither one is good for us or for the environment. Burning garbage releases dangerous gases which contribute to global warming and pollute lakes, forests, oceans and cities, destroying the ozone layer.
Burying garbage also causes both air and water pollution.
In the world we produce per year five hundred million tons of garbage and just a little part of it is recycled or reutilized.
We should be more responsible about where is our garbage going to, we should organized and recycle it.
On U.S.A you can see that they organized the garbage on three different baskets, with different colors each one. And there are different trucks that received it.
On Costa Rica we should recycle and organized garbage as in USA, if we do it we can be a cleaner country.

  26. Pollution in rivers:
In recent years has increased pollution in rivers, caused because the people have no respect for nothing and throw garbage anywhere including rivers. Many of the causes of the pollution of rivers are also people from throwing garbage anywhere, many of the factories in the world have their sewers into the rivers, and there are hospitals that throw their physicians to these same materials. This problem gives many negative consequences in our lives and aminal life as water is essential and of great need for human beings and rivers is one of the sources on which we can get drinking water we can take, and that besides the trash in the rivers that travel directly to the sea, where they live oceans billions of animal life and unfortunately die from this. This type of problem is most common in areas of urban landscapes and large cities. There are several solutions to these problems and can be like to stop throwing garbage in rivers and large cities to seek new alternatives to their drains.
